Practices to Shift Depression and Anxiety
LIVE Afternoon Online
April 8, 2023 1.30-4.30pm ET / 10.30am-1.30pm MT
Yoga Teachers Association of the Hudson Valley
Since the pandemic, rates of depression and anxiety have skyrocketed (previous statistics for depression had been 1 in 10 people; it’s now affecting 1 in 4 people). What practices can we offer our students and ourselves to establish emotional balance, self-regulation, and resiliency, no matter what we see in the news?
Amy will give you the why, the how, and the practices to make a difference. Not only will these practices shift your mood, but they may change your life as they did for Amy and the thousands of students she has trained in LifeForce Yoga.
We’ll be meeting the mood and shifting it into balance with yoga breathing, mudras, visual imagery, yoga meditations, mantras, and accessible movements. Many of these practices are not taught in regular yoga classes.
A recording will be made available to registrants for two weeks following the workshop.
The Zoom meeting link will be sent to registrants automatically in the registration confirmation upon receipt of payment. Please ensure you have the link well before the start of the workshop—check your junk/spam folder. We cannot guarantee technical help the day of the workshop.
Yoga Teachers Association of the Hudson Valley
The Yoga Teachers Association (YTA) is a not-for-profit, educational organization dedicated to continuing, improving, and deepening the quality of yoga teaching in the Hudson Valley. The YTA offers ongoing workshops led by nationally recognized yoga teachers, as well as highly accomplished local area instructors. The YTA was created by a small group of pioneering yoga teachers in 1979 who saw the need for affordable and continuing education. YOU are invited to join us!
Ongoing Learning: In the interest of furthering a student’s knowledge, the YTA offers a different workshop every month in a variety of techniques and styles, 10 months of the year. Each workshop is 3 hours long, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, and is usually scheduled for the second Saturday of the month. Workshops are fee-based and open to the public. Members of the YTA receive discounted pricing.
Workshops may be offered in-person, via Zoom, or in a hybrid model (in-person with Zoom feed). For most workshops, a recording will be made available to all registrants for two weeks following the workshop.
